Opportunity to work in Christian Publications in Papua New Guinea

Do you have an interest in Christian publications and a passion for PNG?

Christian Books Melanesia (CBM) is looking for four people to serve on the ground with a multicultural team in the coastal town of Wewak, Papua New Guinea.

As a not-for-profit, CBM publishes and distributes Christian books, Bibles, and school supplies in PNG. CBM is driven by a love for scripture and a love for Christ. 

Housing, travel expenses, and a basic living allowance will be provided to supplement self-funding or support from sending churches. A vibrant Christian faith and commissioning by a home church or mission agency are essential.

Inventory Manager

After 54 years CBM PNG is a well-established brand in PNG. CBM services are impacting the nation through literacy, literature and training. With this, comes the great need to maintain inventory and oversee all facets of maintaining accurate database. For this reason, we are looking for a dedicated and reliable Inventory Manager to join the mission organisation.

This role is all about keeping things running smoothly—managing inventory, tracking supplies, and ensuring everything is in place to support our mission of spreading God's Word. Familiarity with Unleashed Software, Lightspeed (POS), and Xero is a plus.

Publications Manager

Do you have interest and experience in management, editing and marketing?

The Publications Manager will oversee the creation, editing, and distribution of written materials. It also involves working with authors, managing content, and handling layout and design. The role also involves supporting web-based media and planning media coverage for events.

Key responsibilities include coordinating new publications, developing marketing strategies, managing the Publication Officer, and overseeing social media. The ideal candidate should be fluent in Pidgin and written English, proficient in software like Photoshop, WordPress, and InDesign, and have 3-5 years of experience in writing, editing, and design.

Sales and Marketing Manager

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role focuses on overseeing a network of bookshops and maintaining an engaging online presence.

Responsibilities include planning promotions, managing inventory, and training staff in customer service and effective sales techniques.

CBM are looking for someone with a strong commitment to Christian ministry, fluency in Tok Pisin (Pidgin Language), and a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales or marketing, ideally in publishing or retail sectors.

General Manager

The role will blend business acumen with a strong Christian commitment. It will involve overseeing daily operations, managing cash flow, and ensuring effective risk management.

CBM are looking for someone to lead their team, manage daily operations, and ensure the mission stays strong. They're looking for someone with leadership experience, preferably in a Christian organisation, who can oversee finances and support their staff's growth. Knowledge of Tok Pisin and a background in management or business is a plus.
